CREATIVE ARTS EMBATTLED - FOCAP

Image
FOCAP The Foundation of Concerned Arts Professionals (FOCAP) is requesting that the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to intervene immediately in the harassment and assault on the organizers of the CHALE WOTE FESTIVAL. The intimidation of the organizers of the CHALE WOTE FESTIVAL reveals how little we regard the arts in this country. The organizers did not defy any police orders, therefore the story is false; however, they were charged under the Public Order Act for failing to notify police of a special event. It began with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly issuing a press statement to halt such a beautiful festival/event, and an attempt by the organizers to seek an appointment with the Mayor was turned down with the pretext that the Mayor was not available to meet with the organizers. According to FOCAP sources, the directive to disrupt and attack the festival came from above. The CHALE WOTE FESTIVAL this year was strictly an indoor event after the AMA Mayor refused to grant them au...

GOODBYE 20's , HELLO 30's !!!

Image
By Nana Akua Sexy Akua To someone younger than me, thirty years may seem like a long time. To those who are older, it may seem like only a few years. There is still so much I want to learn, so I have decided to celebrate the occasion by making a list of the most important things I have learnt in the the few years I have spent on this planet. I will be 30 years old tomorrow, and I am extremely excited 😊 In the last 30 years, I've learned a great deal — far more than any blog post could ever contain. I realize there is still a lot I don't understand, but here's what I do know. I want to share those lessons with you all — and perhaps my younger self — as a reminder that we are all fumbling our way through life together. In some ways, I wish I could travel back in time and teach my younger self all of these lessons. But, because I didn't get a time machine for my birthday, I'm hoping you'll find them useful.  I participated in a fun photo shoot with a local photogr...

Chaplain of St. Monica's College fingered in Sexual Harassment

Image
Entrance of Mampong College of Education andsowhaatt.com has obtained an exclusive video of Venerable Obeng Larbi, chaplain of St Monica's College of Education, kissing students on the podium during sunday service. St. Monica's College of Education is a girls' educational college in mampong. According to our source, he kissed the students because they showed up in large numbers to church on that day. The Chaplain is also known for sexually harassing the girls and inappropriately touching them when he invites them to his home, but all efforts to get him to stop have been ineffective. Despite the fact that we are in the covid 19 era, the man who is supposed to be performing religious rites, leading worship services, providing confidential counseling, and advising students on religious, spiritual, and moral matters, instead asks the last student to remove her nose mask so that he can kiss her in the video. ROYAL AID FOUNDATION LAUNCHES PROJECT TO SUPPORT BOY CHILD EDUCATION.

Image
Founder, Dr S.K Frimpong The Royal Aid Foundation has launched the He Empowering Lot More She's (HELMS) project at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Auditorium to support boy child education and empowerment. According to Dr. S. K Frimpong, the founder of HELMS, the global focus has been on girl child education and empowerment, which is increasingly becoming unbalanced. The empowered girls will grow up to be highly educated, but the less educated and empowered boys would become a societal nuisance. The females, on the other hand, will not marry them since they cannot matchup. As a result, the He Empowering Lot More She's (HELMS) foundation empowers more boys in order to empower more girls, hence the name. He continued by saying that , the goal is to develop a balance between male and female empowerment, which may be achieved by encouraging boys and girls to work together to achieve academic success in the classroom. Dr. Frimpong also mentioned that the project will be conducted ...
