Medikal is a Good Rapper, But Amerado is Better – Ola Michael

Entertainment pundit and movie producer Ola Michael sparked an interesting debate about Ghanaian rappers during his appearance on Penpensiwa, a popular entertainment talk show hosted by Obomengniibaa Nana Akua on AsaasePa 107.3 FM. He expressed his preference for Amerado over Medikal, citing lyrical depth and creativity as key factors in his judgment.

According to Ola Michael, the dynamics of rap music in Ghana are evolving, with many rappers incorporating singing into their craft. While he acknowledges that this shift does not diminish their skills, he emphasized that hardcore rap is undergoing significant changes.

"Medikal is a good rapper, but Amerado is a better rapper," Ola stated confidently. He explained that while Medikal's style involves playful and catchy rhymes, Amerado distinguishes himself with his ability to create relatable terms and narratives for the streets.

“Amerado creates the terms for the streets; they don’t pick from the streets. Medikal, on the other hand, uses street terms,” Ola elaborated. This comparison highlights the unique approaches both rappers bring to their music, with Medikal leaning more toward fun and relatable vibes and Amerado focusing on originality and thought-provoking content.

Penpensiwa, hosted by Obomengniibaa Nana Akua, airs every Saturday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on AsaasePa 107.3 FM. The show continues to serve as a platform for vibrant discussions and insights into Ghana’s entertainment industry.
